A286 stainless steel is an iron-based superalloy with high strength and excellent fabrication and welding characteristics, as well as solid corrosion and oxidation resistance. A286 material offers high ductility and can be hardened and strengthened with heat treatment making it useful in a variety of applications including aircraft parts, industrial gas turbines and the automotive space. From screws and bolts to high temperature fasteners, and jet engines, A286 is a ubiquitous metal. A286 is chiefly composed of steel, with nickel, chromium and titanium being the other major chemical properties. Standard specifications for A 286 include AMS 5732, AMS 5737 and more.
